Biography

Michael is a seasoned aftermarket professional, having run major aftermarket profit centres for some of the best known parts and equipment manufacturers. With a background routed in sales and marketing, he gets a kick out of helping manufacturing and aftermarket parts businesses to grow profitably.

In his early career, he worked with our Adrian at Lucas Aftermarket Operations, where he developed his product marketing skills on their graduate apprentice scheme before moving on to Perkins Engines, which became part of Caterpillar in 1996. It was here where he went on to run significant marketing programmes and departments, before undertaking sales operations roles and becoming Sales Director where he achieved rapid sales growth of 300% across Europe, North America and Asia.

General management of a Japanese joint venture business followed, where he managed a number of operational excellence transformations, returning the manufacturing business to profit and opening a new Chinese business entity. Michael was rewarded with promotion to the JV board and when he returned to the UK, became Business Development Director of a $6 billion power systems division before moving on again to take full responsibility for the entire aftermarket parts business of Perkins Engines with accountability for all functional areas.

Most recently, Michael has guided businesses in areas of lifecycle management, availability transformation, pricing strategy, digital connectivity, eCommerce, sales organisation improvement and dealer development and is looking to assist Servispart clients in these areas.

Michael is married with two grown-up children…one a paramedic and the other a personal trainer. In his spare time he likes to indulge his passion for racing a 1980s BMW in the Classic and Sports Car Club alongside his son. Oh, and he also likes to sing and play guitar with rock band, “Self Preservation Society” and acoustic trio “The Charlie Croker Band.”
