John Dean

Biography

A graduate Mechanical Engineer, John has a wealth of experience in consultancy and management.  His early career was spent implementing MRPII systems while carrying out managerial roles within materials management for companies in the Hawker Siddeley and Reckitt and Colman groups.  A move into manufacturing systems design saw John work for JCB, which was followed by a spell in management consultancy with the Organisation Development Group.

He returned to industry, heading up the group Manufacturing Systems team for Norcros plc.  Subsequently John focused on Information Technology and Systems and took an interim management role as IS Director for one of the UK’s largest joinery products manufacturers.  In this role he oversaw a major systems integration programme involving the consolidation of the company’s many legacy computer systems and ICT infrastructure.

In his consultancy career, John has helped many organisations to integrate systems, technologies and improve processes.  He is recognised as a systems and technology specialist, using the latest management techniques and ICT to drive business benefit for clients.

He has managed major IT outsourcing assignments, complex systems integration programmes as well as conducted Lean and Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) projects.

John is married with two grown up sons who share John’s keen interest in technology and real ale!
