He led the introduction of new planning and tracking procedures for finished goods and later took responsibility for the Master Planning function.
Ian moved into consultancy in 1984, joining the Organisation Development Group, and in 1987 was appointed Divisional Manager for operations in manufacturing strategy. He has led MRPII, Lean and many other initiatives in a range of industries involving both standard and Engineer to Order products, and provided supporting education and training for staff involved with these new techniques. In recent years his experience has been split between consultancy and interim management work.
