Biography

Guy is a graduate Mechanical Engineer with considerable business development and business winning experience. He began his career at BAE Systems within military aircraft manufacturing and held a variety of roles involved with identifying and resolving quality and work flow problems, including leading a team that developed and implemented a semi-automated sheet metal manufacturing solution.

After managing the creation of all capital investment business cases for his part of the business, Guy moved into the commercial directorate, where he was responsible for leading and winning several high profile bids including the first of many competitive export contracts for the Hawk trainer jet aircraft (the one made famous by the Red Arrows).

As his responsibilities grew, Guy managed business relationships with overseas export customers, developed winning strategies for £multi-million 3rd party aftermarket support contracts, managed the creation of the Eurofighter export sales company and secured key positions for BAE Systems on a number of bidding consortia including working with the Ministry Of Defence on the development of their warehousing and distribution requirements, which formed the basis of the Future Defence Supply Chain initiative.

After leaving BAE Systems in 2004, Guy has worked as a consultant, dedicated to improving the business winning capability of his clients. He has worked with a wide variety of commercial organisations, including start-ups, SMEs and primes, as well as trade associations, learned bodies, government agencies and academia. Guy recognises that each client has unique needs and therefore tailors his interventions accordingly. Without a doubt, Guy has considerable expertise in supplying the business winning help that his clients need to grow their business.

Guy is married, has two grown up sons and one grandchild. Aside from family life, Guy gets a lot of pleasure as a season ticket holder at Liverpool FC, listening to music, dining out and collecting postage stamps from around the world.
