The next Service Community Event is being hosted by Mark West of BT at their new state of the art Snowhill facility in the heart of Birmingham, UK.
Servispart Consulting will again be supporting this event and facilitating the breakout ‘discussion cafes’ on Digital Services Innovation following an excellent presentation by Chris Raddats of Liverpool University on some recent research he has undertaken in this critical topic area.
We hope you will join us all at what promises to be another very enjoyable, educational and informative day!

What is the Service Community?
The Service Community is an informal, non-profit organisation that seeks to drive service improvements and innovation through collaboration.
The community is continuing to grow and now has circa 250 members from the full spectrum of UK and European industrial organisations, many of whom are leaders in growing their business through service thinking.
Run by service professionals for service professionals, the Service Community runs events with site visits and presentations from some of the UK’s leading service professionals from a wide array of industries.
No fee is charged for attending any of the service community events.
Previous events have been hosted by Henley Business School, Atlas Copco, Renishaw, GE Power, Cambridge University, Cranfield University and Konica Minolta, for example.
What happens at a Service Community Event?
Each service community event is not only a fantastic opportunity to hear about best practices from leading academics and industry professionals but also to network with other service professionals like you.
The Service Community aims to provide opportunities to find out what practices have worked for other companies, what hasn’t worked, and most importantly, why?
The overarching focus is therefore on the practical – less about theory and more about examining what others do and evaluating successful practices.
Service Community Event at BT Snowhill – June 9th, 2022
We are delighted to confirm that our next service community event will be in our traditional face to face format, hosted on this occasion by BT at their new state of the art Snowhill facility in the heart of Birmingham.
As well as the discussion cafe mentioned earlier, thought-provoking presentations will be received from:
- Simon Lawrence, EMEA Service Director of Welbilt, on the challenges of Last Mile Logistics and some ideas on how they can be overcome;
- Steve Gregson, Global Chief of Transformation for Engineering for Services at Rolls-Royce will share his lessons learned of what to get right in sustainable services transformation;
- Martin Prior, Service Operations Director of Fuji Film, will share his lessons learned from outsourcing service operations to 3rd party providers;
- and Chris Raddats, Reader in Marketing at Liverpool University will share his recent research into Digital Service Offerings, which will lead nicely into the breakout discussion cafes mentioned above.
In addition, there will be plenty of time during breaks, lunch and before/after the event for networking, discussion and making new friends!

Come and join us
Previous events have been well worth a day out of the office/factory and we expect this latest event to be no exception.
Service Community events are usually twice a year (spring and autumn) so we hope you can find the time to come and join us all.
If you can’t make this event but you’d like to get more involved in the service community, have ideas on topics, would like to make a presentation or offer your facilities for a future service community event, please contact the service community leadership team on [email protected] and one of us will get back to you as soon as possible.
